What Does the Future Hold for Our Kids and Us?

http://ragenrat.moguling.com/2008/July/What-Does-the-Future-Hold-for-Our-Kids-and-Us.htm

A question or two about the future of my kids and us tomorrow, next week, next year given current trends of gas prices, energy use, and mother nature.

A big question thats on my mine now that my daughters going to be having twins come next December.

Sky rocketing fuel prices!! Why because we each use so much that we don't even think about it any more. A house with all the lights on, Appliances that run 24/7 like freezers, refrigerators, clocks, ceiling fans, etc. If we just look around us we see all the things that use energy that we just take for granted anymore because its become our way of life. In the not to distance future things are going to change and it scares me to think about it. What is life going to be like 20 years from now?

The united states has very little oil left, We get all of ours from other country's. What happens when theres no more to get. ?

Can we all get back to a more simple life with out all of the energy products that we become to expect and take for granted in our everyday lives?
Houston we have a problem!

I watch the history channel with the programs about oil consumption and the billions of barrels we use each day not to mention each year, And it scares me to think about my grand children and what there lives will be like at my ripe old age of 47?
What are we to do?

I've been buying the new fluorescent energy saving bulbs. They rock with energy savings but!!! Do a search on them, Now they say they pose a bigger risk of mercury contamination then we ever thought before after the bulbs are burned out and trashed or broken and the mercury is released into the environment.

Spending habits have changed over the last few months for me. Every week I watch my check get gobbled up for gas for our two cars and grocery's and it keeps getting worse every week.

It seems like everywhere.. State by state we all getting hammered by rain, floods, fires, earth quakes, tornado's its endless and now they say that the ice cap is melting faster than it ever has?

I don't think I've ever been a doom and gloom kind of person, Nor do I want to become one. I just stand here looking around at whats going on around me.

Does anyone else see all of this or is it just me?

Looking for a bright tomorrow.

427 ZL-1 Crate Big Block Chevy by GM Performance Parts O YEA !!!

http://ragenrat.moguling.com/2007/November/427ZL1CrateBigBlockChevybyGMPerformancePartsOYEA.htm

I NEED THIS BAD BOY !!!!

GM Performance Parts has done it again and made yet another dream engine !!!!!!! Now that's what i am talking about another great Big Block Chevy engine. This bad boy uses Aluminum oval-port heads with 2.19-inch intake valves and 1.88-inch exhaust valves and eats up enough fuel and spits it out to produce 430 hp and a stiff 450 lb-ft of torque. All this in a Big Block Chevy that's street able and most anybody including my self would be very proud to display and roar down the road with in my favorite Truck or Car. Myself I would stuff that in my 69 Chevy pickup.

This Anniversary 427 comes with a wonderful 24-month/50,000 mile warranty and some other credits as well. Just the silvery look and hot hp numbers made me fall in love with it, and can't wait till i have one. 10.0:1 compression is perfect for the kind of driving i would do with this beauty. And i am sure my 69 Chevy truck would take on a new Heart beat of American type feeling rumbling down the road and what a feel under foot. I have a grin ear to ear just thinking about it. I would gladly come up with the cash for my favorite brand of headers Hookers to fit it and run my custom exhaust right out the back, Might even have to spring for those custom automatic exhaust cut-outs for this to play with the sound the beast lets out.

Who needs a stereo when you can listen to a clean burning set of aluminum heads pumping 10:0-1 out a set of hookers.... What you see in the picture is what you get all you need is the REST !!!

For you numbers guys and gals here's a few details

4.250-inch bore
3.750-inch stroke
10.0:1 compression ratio
Forged steel crankshaft
Forged steel rods
Forged aluminum pistons
Hydraulic roller camshaft

Aluminum oval-port cylinder heads with 2.19-inch intake valves and 1.88-inch exhaust valves (GMPP part number 12633392)
Aluminum dual-plane intake manifold (GMPP part number 12363406)
850-cfm four-barrel carburetor
Chrome air cleaner
HEI ignition
Natural-finish "427 CHEVROLET"-script aluminum valve covers with serial number (Anniversary 427) powder-coated "427 CHEVROLET"-script aluminum valve covers (ZZ427)

Read this blog and help me pay for it j/k
